How to Season T-fal Nonstick Pans?

The reason why I say you need to re-season it every time you wash it is that if you don’t season it again after washing, then any layer of seasoning will get stripped off in the process leaving only an unseasoned pan underneath, which won’t scrape oil away as well as a seasoned one would later down the line when cooking foods (like eggs or fish).
To season your pan on the stove, first, use a paper towel or dishcloth to dab some canola or peanut oil lightly over the entire surface of the pan. Then simply heat up your pan using some mild heat from the burner. Don’t turn it to full blast, as it may damage your pan. You are just trying to make sure it’s evenly coated with a light coating of oil so that it doesn’t stick or burn anything when you’re cooking in it later. Once you’ve got an even layer of oil on the entire surface, let the pan cool and then wipe off any excess oil with paper towels before proceeding to wash and dry your newly-seasoned pan. It’s also possible to season T-fal frying pans in the oven. It gives a similar result but takes a bit longer than doing it the other way. Again, you will need the materials listed above, to begin with on this method (1 teaspoon of peanut oil and two pieces of paper towel). Again, be careful when following these steps:
- Make sure your pan is cool
- Put the paper towels on your cooling pan
- Coat both sides of the paper towels with oil
- Then place another layer of paper towel over it followed by aluminum foil
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 350°F
- Take out from the oven and let it cool down
- Remove all the layers from the pan
- Wash the pan with warm water and soap

Now, you know to avoid oils that have a low smoke point. So, what should you use instead? We think high smoke point oils are the best option because they break down slowly, meaning you’ll have less of a chance of any fire or heavily smoking pan! Our top pick is peanut oil for seasoning your T-fal pans; alternatively, canola oil or grapeseed oil would also be good options for this.
Seasoning your pans may seem like an unnecessary extra step to take, but this is a very important aspect of ensuring that they continue doing the job you need them to do.
